June 5

* A graduate assistant reported that a parking meter had been damaged in Lot 28. The damage was possibly caused by a motor vehicle striking it.

June 6

* An ISU staff member in the Design Center reported the theft of a computer from a design studio. The incident occurred sometime since May 30. Estimated loss was $3,283.

* A collision occurred in Lot 82. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. The report is still in progress.

* A female juvenile struck her head on playground equipment at University Village. The juvenile was assessed by Mary Greeley Medical Center paramedics and then released to her mother.

June 7

* During a routine traffic stop at Lincoln Way and South Dakota Avenue, Jarad Lee Nelson, 22, 4416 Toronto #2, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Nelson was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* Vincent Fertal, Cheswick, Pa., struck a parked ISU vehicle as he was backing a semi-truck in Lot 47. Damage was estimated at $800.

* Two vehicles collided in Lot 29. The drivers/owners were Tara Tinlin, Des Moines, and Ho Kwon, 1019 Delaware Ave. #20.

* An ISU staff member reported the theft of a computer from B54 Physics Hall. The incident occurred sometime since May 17. Estimated loss was $1,100.

June 8

* A truck driven by Amy Gibbs, Nevada, struck a parked vehicle owned by Stephen Quenette, Boone, in Lot 93. Estimated damage was $700.

* A student living in Buchanan Hall reported receiving annoying telephone calls in which the caller says nothing.

* Justin Potts, 237 Ash Ave., reported the theft of his cellular telephone from the Lied Recreation Center. The incident occurred June 7. Estimated loss was $200.

* A small fire was discovered in a microwave oven in the Hub. Someone had placed aluminum foil and a napkin inside a plastic guard. Estimated damage was $50.

June 9

* Staff in Friley Hall reported the theft of an upright vacuum cleaner from a Pearson House den. Loss was estimated at $600.

June 10

* Jon Edward VanderWel, 20, 407 Welch Ave., was observed consuming an alcoholic beverage on Knapp Street. VanderWel was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

* A resident of Buchanan Hall reported receiving several harassing telephone calls.

June 11

* Philip R. Craft, 19, Portsmouth, was observed carrying a cup containing an alcoholic beverage at Knapp Street and Welch Avenue. Craft was cited for possession of alcohol under the legal age.

* During a routine traffic stop at South Fourth Street and Elwood Drive, Michael James Karre, 22, 1108 S. Fourth St., was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Karre was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated.
