June 19

* Brian Burkeimer, 1316 S. Duff Ave. #68, reported that the driver’s side window of his vehicle was broken while it was parked in Lot 29. Estimated damage was $100.

* An ISU staff member was harassed by a resident who was upset because he had been denied entry onto a controlled access floor in Friley Hall.

June 20

* An ISU staff member reported that computer equipment was taken from a locked room in Beyer Hall. The incident is believed to have occurred overnight. Estimated loss was $3,420.

* An ISU staff member reported the theft of a small amount of money from an unlocked storage closet in Carver Hall.

* A delivery truck backed into a mechanical truck near the loading dock in Lot 42, resulting in very minor damage.

* Mike Mwangong, 211 S. Hyland Ave., reported the theft of his mountain bike from the racks west of the Durham Center. Estimated loss was $200.

June 21

* Brett Bumgarner, 530 Welch Ave. #5, reported that his vehicle was broken into while it was parked in Lot 61. A radar detector, compact discs and a carrying case were stolen. Estimated loss was $460.

* An ISU staff member reported that a computer, stereo and video equipment were stolen from a studio in Curtiss Hall. Estimated loss was $6,764.

* A student living in Friley Hall reported receiving harassing telephone calls from a former high school classmate.

* A vehicle driven by Tao Wu, 128H University Village, collided with a motorcycle driven by Travis Krous, 3315 Roy Key Ave. #8, at Pammel Drive and Stange Road. Krous and a passenger, Michelle Earles, were transported by ambulance to Mary Greeley Medical Center. Wu was issued a citation for failure to yield upon making a left turn.

June 22

* During a routine traffic stop on Welch Avenue, it was discovered that Hanna J. Scheelhasse, 212 Hayward Ave., had an outstanding warrant from another agency. Scheelhasse was taken into custody and transported to the Ames Police Department.

* Misty Bush, 108C University Village, reported the loss of her wedding band somewhere in the area of Science I.

* Benjamin Rouse, 203 Ash Ave., reported that he left a wristwatch and eyeglasses in a lab in the Agronomy Building on May 26. When he returned, the items were not there. Estimated loss was $305.

* DPS received a fire alarm in Bessey Hall via computer. Upon arrival, it was learned that a small fire had broken out in a wood-processing room. The fire was extinguished before officials arrived.

* An ISU staff member reported items missing from his desk drawer in Helser Hall. The incident occurred sometime between June 7 and June 19.

* An employee at Parks Library reported the theft of a book bag and its contents. The book bag and contents were later found. Nothing was missing.

June 23

* An ISU staff member reported that two metal building signs were pried off their respective concrete walls at the Veterinary Medicine/VMRI Building. Estimated damage was $1,000.

* Richard Horn, 4801 Idaho, was driving westbound on Pammel Drive when his vehicle was struck by a car turning left from Haber Road that was being driven by Michele Beck of Kellerton. There were no injuries. Estimated damage was $2,000.

* DPS received a report that computers were tampered with and chairs were overturned at Pammel Court laundry.

* During a motorist assist on Elwood Drive, it was discovered that Ardi Malik, 4112 Westbrook Drive #8, had an unserved suspension through the Department of Transportation. Malik was served with the notice.

June 24

* During a routine traffic stop at Stange Road and Brunner Drive, Kevin R. Uhlenberg, 115B University Village, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Uhlenberg was arrested and charged with second-offense operating while intoxicated.

* During a routine traffic stop at Bissell Road and Osborn Drive, Wade A. Harsh, Nevada, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Harsh was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

June 25

* A laptop computer was placed in front of a staff member’s room in Friley Hall. The item was placed into secure storage until the owner can be contacted.

* During a routine traffic stop at Lincoln Way and Sheldon Avenue, Michael W. Olson, Bondurant, was found to be under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. Olson was arrested and charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated.

* Officers assisted a diabetic who was in need of sugar in Buchanan Hall. Mary Greeley Medical Center paramedics were summoned to the scene. The patient was released and then monitored the remainder of the day by residence staff.
