1991 – June 1, Jischke is named President of Iowa State.
1993 – The American Society of Engineering Education awards Jischke the Centennial Medallion.
1995 – Iowa State is deemed a “Research-I” university by the Carnegie Foundation for Advancement of Teaching.
1995 – The Hixson Opportunity Awards Program is started to give 100 Iowa young people with financial or personal difficulties an opportunity to attend Iowa State.
1996-1999 – Iowa State raised more than $100 million in private funding during each of the three years.
1998 – Jischke served as the chair of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges Board of Directors.
1998 – Jischke announces Veishea will be alcohol-free.
