College of Business re-accredited

Iowa State’s College of Business has been re-accredited by the International Association for Management Education (AACSB).

The AACSB represents colleges, universities, businesses and organizations committed to excellence in management education.

Benjamin Allen, dean of the College of Business, said the accreditation is great for the college and Iowa State.

“It enhances students’ job placement, ability to go to graduate schools, and most importantly, it means we can provide better education for the students,” Allen said.

Allen said the re-accreditation means there are high-quality programs in the College of Business. “It affirms what we are doing and that we are trying to make it better,” he said.

Iowa State’s College of Business was recognized in five areas: percentage of courses taught by full-time faculty, an active business advisory council, progress in developing academic programs, a positive work environment and gain in entrepreneurial education.
