Brahms rocks
April 3, 2000
To the editor:
I’ve never been prouder to be an Iowa Stater. This past weekend, the artistry of Johannes Brahms brought together hundreds of musicians, who with care, musicianship and respect presented the German Requiem to a packed Stevens Auditorium. Brahms’ spectacular music was made even more special by the sense of community evident in the orchestra and chorus.
Students shared music stands with retired and current faculty; ISU staff and community members joined their voices with students, who were just as likely to be physics and agronomy majors as music majors.
Iowa State has many faces. This was among its best.
