Don’t ask, don’t tell me
April 12, 2000
To the editor:
I am not a homophobe. But I do have a problem with any couple making out in public. It’s just not fun to watch for anyone.
I can’t recall the number of times I have seen some hormone-induced romp in the grass from two sickeningly loving individuals.
I like to keep my personal life private, as do most people. And another thing, I’m heterosexual, but I don’t feel the need to scream it to the world.
Who I love is no business of anyone’s, and who wants to know anyway? The only thing I resent about gay people is that they feel that the rest of the world needs to know their sexual orientation.
Are you gay? Are you straight?
I don’t care either way. So don’t tell me.
