What are you talking about?
April 23, 2000
To the editor:
I am replying to Andreas Darmawan after reading his or her opinion on April 21.
Above all, I beg your excusing me for the two counts of violating your commands. I could not get out and live today, but I will let you know eventually when I finish my studies here. Hope you would still hang in there then.
I do not stay peace and cool as you command. Could you give me a break in the sake of my reporting of the two counts of violation against your commands to DPS?
You thought I over-generalized and at the same time failed to include you and some other people. Do you see the conflict in this now?
Secondly, your comments were like those I made when I heard my name was called by the professor to make my comments after I had fallen asleep in class. Honey!
You missed. What are you talking about? I said something about respect to difference, to diversity. I did not say people should change the difference, to socialize to adapt each other.
I did not say who should be the model on which others act or who should be the person to break the ice and approach others. If people act as you said as from one model, that’s not America! Hope you hang in there so you can lend those who do not feel at home in the new environment your experience of acting like a Roman when you are in Rome.
