To the editor:

Here’s to the ISU Cyclones! Both the women’s and men’s teams’ performances on Saturday left one in awe. Iowa State has a great deal to be proud of, and some perspective shows just how well we did.

The women’s team battled higher-rated Penn State to a standstill, and only a last-moment shot made the difference.

The men’s team took on arguably the best team in the nation, and despite a tremendous MSU home-court and home-crowd advantage (and, some might say, some questionable end-game officiating), came within five minutes of ending the Spartan’s run.

Both games could easily have gone the other way.

Congratulations to the ISU teams and their coaches! Thanks for a fantastic season.
