Your rap reviews leave me wanting

To the editor:

I would like to compliment everybody on their work at the Daily. I enjoy reading it every day. There is one part of the paper that upsets me, though.

Every week you do music reviews, but rap albums never get good reviews. It seems the only way to get a good rating on an album is if it is an alternative album. It’s like you guys don’t even give rap artists a chance.

Tupac plus Outlawz’s “Still I Rise” is one of the best albums I have heard in a long time, yet it only pulled off a 2 l/2 stars. That seems a little low for the best rapper of all time.

“Still I Rise” is just one of the many rap albums to receive a poor rating. There have been other albums that have basically been run into the ground.

How can all of the rap albums out there be so bad? Maybe these albums are actually very good albums that just don’t get listened to.

I would like to see reviews done by people who actually listen to the music and understand what musicians are talking about.
