Yeah, baby!

To the editor:

Congratulations to the men’s basketball team on the most exciting game I’ve ever seen the Cyclones play — and win! I was born a die hard Cyclone fan and never even dreamt of a season like this.ÿ

Killing the shmuckeyes before conference play began. Then beating mizzery in the first conference game.ÿNext kicking the overrated Jayhawks all the way back to Lawrence.ÿNow beating Kansas at Phog Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since I was practically born.ÿ

In the words of Dick Vitale, “YEAH, BABY!”ÿ If the rest of Iowa State isn’t excited about Cyclone basketball, there is no better time to start. When was the last time you can remember the men and women both being ranked in the top twenty-five? Never.ÿ

The only way this season could get any better is if the students could watch the games at Hilton where they’re supposed to.ÿ

There is no better, and more urgent time to get the people who actually cheer behind the benches.ÿ Iowa State is a first-class team, they deserve a first-class crowd. Mr. Smith and Dr. Jischke, please bring back the “Magic!”ÿ

Even if I’m stuck cheering my heart out up in the balcony, I hope Eustachy and the men’s basketball team enjoy it as well — you deserve it.ÿ

I also hope Collison and Hinrich learned their lesson this year — loyalty is the golden rule of sports.ÿIf you wanted to turn your back on the state, you should have played in a conference where you’d never have to step foot in it.

Best of luck to all the Cyclones, you’re always number one!ÿ

GO STATE!
