Get involved with Veishea

Curtis Cretin

To the editor:

I feel like I need to respond to Carmen Cerra’s Veishea cartoon.

I am on the risk management committee and my position is the Iowa State University Representative.

I didn’t know much about Veishea when I came here as a freshman, but after learning more about it, I don’t want it to become labeled as the administration’s celebration.

One of my goals this year for Veishea is to get more student involvement in the dorms.

The majority of the people living in the dorms are freshman and sophomores and, like I was, are uninformed about Veishea.

I want to encourage those people to become involved in Veishea and I STRONGLY SUGGEST that each and every one of you go and fill out an application.

This is a student run celebration and it starts with you.

You are the future of Veishea and you need to become involved in these positions.

So, in closing, I just want to remind everyone that the applications are due Friday Feb. 5 at 5:00 p.m.

Take some time out of your day to stop by the West Student Office, fill one out and sign up for an interview. You’ll be glad you did.

As a side note, I had some friends who did this last year and they got to attend the Tone Loc concert and Dew the Rec for free.

That sure beats the price of admission.
