No. 23 Iowa State downs Kansas State 81-52 on the road for seventh Big 12 win

For its seventh win in the Big 12, No. 23 Iowa State beat Kansas State 81-52 on the road.

Iowa State has only lost three games in the Big 12 and are currently third in the Big 12 behind second-place Texas and first-place Baylor.

Earlier this season, Iowa State beat Kansas State 96-58 in the Big 12 opener at home.

Four of Iowa State’s starters finished with double digits as Bridget Carleton paced the way with 19 points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

Sophomore Kristin Scott finished with a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the game.

Sophomore Madi Wise had 14 points and seven rebounds while Ashley Joens had 16 points.

The only starter without double digit points was Alexa Middleton who had seven points and seven assists. Her seven assists were a game high.

Iowa State was hot shooting with shooting splits of 45.8 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from three.

In addition, Iowa State held Kansas State to 31.6 percent shooting from the floor and 35.3 percent from three.

On the boards, Iowa State was able to outbound the Wildcats 44 to 29.

Iowa State was able to score first during the game and the Cyclones never lost the advantage. Iowa State totaled 39:47 in minutes leading during the game.

Looking ahead, Iowa State is set to face West Virginia at home next Saturday with the No. 3 spot in the Big 12 on the line.
