Leave the politics off my table
February 25, 2000
To the editor:
On Feb. 24, Friley Hall had a table tent supporting pro-life.
Unfortunately this table tent was not informative, instead it was a heavily insulting and offensive piece of propaganda that should have never been approved for public showing on the tables of the dining center.
I urge the Daily to get a hold of this “table tent” and bring awareness to the insulting nature of its message and the image that it brings to Iowa State, a public university.
A university that needs to uphold and honor all opinions and beliefs of its students.
Unfortunately, here they have allowed an insulting anti-abortion message to sit on tables where many women who have undergone abortions can read it.
The eating table should be a place of laughter and enjoyment, not a bulletin board to place hurtful and insulting judgments on a sizable portion of the population.
Thank you and I hope to read about it.
