The Smashing Pumpkins’ manager of nearly 4 months recently resigned from the band due to medical reasons. Sharon Osbourne, wife of Ozzy Osbourne, left the Pumpkins on Jan. 11, citing Billy Corgan as the origin of her ills.

“It was with great pride and enthusiasm that I took on management of the Pumpkins back in October, but unfortunately I must resign today due to medical reasons,” said her resignation statement. “Billy Corgan was making me sick,”

According to All-Star News, Osbourne praised the other members of the Pumpkins, saying she is saddened to no longer be working with “such great and talented people.”

Osbourne, who joined the Pumpkins in October after the band parted ways with former management company Q-Prime, continued the Corgan assault last Friday in an interview with Reuters.

“If he thought I was a naughty girl, he’d give me the silent treatment,” Osbourne told the news service. “I don’t need games in my life. I don’t need stupid little boys making faces at me.”

It seems the off-stage persona of Corgan is what got her goat.

“He’s a control freak and I’m a control freak, and I can’t be intimidated by him,” she said. “As big an ego as he’s got, mine’s probably bigger.”

The final straw was drawn for Osbourne when the two disputed over Corgan’s desire to wear a dress in the band’s upcoming video for “Stand Inside Your Love.”

Osbourne’s resignation has been added to a list of band member departures for the Pumpkins.

Last September, bassist D’Arcy left the band and was replaced by former Hole member Melissa Auf Der.

Amid the tragedies at the homefront, the Pumpkins still plan to release their new album, “MACHINA/The Machines of God,” on Feb. 29. The material echoes their early days and is currently being tested on a small European tour.

As for Osbourne, All-Star News reports she may begin managing for Hole.
