The men’s basketball team is not ranked because of its schedule. Jeff Sagarin, whose work is carried by USA Today, does statistical analysis of all Division I basketball teams. His analysis, dated Jan. 20, ranks ISU’s schedule strength as 194 out of 319. In the Big 12, ranked as the fifth toughest conference. Only Texas Tech and Baylor have played easier schedules. Wins against tougher early-season competition may have lead to a national ranking in January.
