A group of Iowa State officials are going to be a part of a Washington, D.C. seminar and conference discussing international women in science. The group includes Ardith Maney, professor of political science, and Mary Ann Evans, program manager for the provost. Both women have been an instrumental part of ISU’s International Women in Science and Engineering.

Today, the group will be a part of a seminar sponsored by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and the Office of International Affairs of the U.S. National Research Council.

IWISE will be featured in the seminar. Other than Evans and Maney, four past IWISE participants will be talking about their experiences in the program.

On Friday, three members of IWISE will join Evans and Many for a panel presentation on the role of female scientists in international development at the Eighth International Forum of the Association of Women in Development.
