Liberal pigs
November 12, 1999
After reading Tim Jarvis’s letter to the editor yesterday, I too have wondered what the hell is wrong with you people at the Daily.
Like Jarvis said, the Midwest is “supposed to be traditional, Republican and conservative.”
The Daily should more faithfully represent this! Look at how Iowans vote — Clinton for president BOTH times, Vilsack for governor and Preston Daniels for mayor of Des Moines. Enough proof for you?
The Daily should represent Iowa as it is SUPPOSED to be — Republican and conservative — not as it is.
Mr. Jarvis had to spell it out in front of your little ignorant faces that most students here are straight Republicans. I’d also like to add that the majority of them also must be right-handed, white and attend church every Sunday.
This being the case, why the hell do you spend so much time writing about other people’s perspectives, religions and cultures?
Print more articles about the fine people like Mr. Jarvis who represent the majority at this fine university.
It’s time to promote some right-wing agenda for a change!
You have so many articles about how we should be more compassionate to one another and respect each others’ differences, but have you thought just one second in those tiny, militant, pea-sized leftist brains of yours that we, the majority of ISU students, should be hearing the other side of the story?
We want to read more about the intolerant views of Pat Buchanan, Jerry Falwell and Republican presidential candidates like Forbes and Bauer who were featured on Monday’s front page, (with pictures I might add) about how homophobia is justified, immigrants and minorities need to get the hell out of this country, creationism is the only true explanation, the Ten Commandments should be brought into schools to reduce school violence, crime in this country is directly related to the decline in Christian faith (despite a 30-year low), and that everyone who doesn’t believe what we believe is destined for eternal damnation.
You liberal pigs spend so much time advocating tolerance that you’re completely ignoring the other side of the argument that no one in this liberal media of ours ever talks about: intolerance.
