Ag Week raises awareness of clubs
November 2, 1999
Many agriculture students at Iowa State will be enjoying the end of the harvest season by celebrating Ag Week.
Ag Week, an annual tradition in Iowa State’s College of Agriculture, began Monday and will be running all week long.
“Ag Week takes place to raise awareness for different clubs in the College of Agriculture,” said Angie Pithan, vice president of the agriculture council and senior in public service and administration in agriculture. “We put it on to show support for each other in various clubs.
“Ag Week gives freshmen and transfer students a chance to meet others in the agriculture department, and it introduces people to clubs and hopefully become interested in them,” she said.
Nicole Knutson, co-chairwoman of the Ag Week Committee, said she hopes people realize how many opportunities exist for students in the College of Agriculture.
“It’s great to have activities like Ag Week taking place so students can interact with one another and find out about clubs other than those they are involved in,” said Knutson, senior in public service and administration in agriculture.
