No credibility

Lindsay Schmidt

If farming becomes too difficult, you can get a new profession. Despite how unfair and cruel that seems, it is possible. If you’re gay, you don’t have that choice.

When you are a farmer, you can go about your job and let people know you are a farmer. If you are gay, sometimes you don’t have that choice. The world doesn’t condemn farmers to Hell and tell them on a daily basis they aren’t abiding by the Bible.

You can’t really compare the two.

However, I do agree that Ag Week should have gotten some coverage in the Daily, but comparing agriculture to homosexuality is comparing apples to oranges.

Oh, and referring to it as “Fag Week” gets you no credibility whatsoever.

In my letter, I never once referred to Ag Week as “Hillbilly Hoedown Week” or “I Like Goats Week” or “Corn Is Cool Week” or “Bobby Joe and His Friendly Hog ‘Bacon’ Week.”

I COULD have, but I didn’t.
