I just wanted to commend you on your terrific look back on the most influential and important songs of the 1990s.

You hit all 90 songs on the head. From hip-hop to mainstream to alternative to techno to international, you crossed the entire spectrum and brought about songs – let’s be frank – that most people have not heard of.

From James’ “Laid” to Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places” and all the way to They Might Be Giants’ “Particle Man,” you reminded me of songs I would play over and over in high school and here at college.

I just wanted to commend you and your panel for doing an unbelievable job of bringing back a part of my recent past and introducing it to those who never knew.

This is without a doubt one of the best pieces of reporting I have ever read in the Iowa State Daily in the eight years that I have been on this campus. Thank you.
