Grubby Ernie has been picking up its performance pace this fall and will continue through this month.

It will perform a 21-and-over show at Lost and Found with Screw the Suits Friday, and at Rock Island in Des Moines Saturday with Deviant, The Leftovers (with members of The Skullcaps), Index Case and Wasted Generation.

The all-ages Saturday show costs $5 and runs from 3 to 9 p.m.

The Charlie Daniels Band show, which was scheduled to hit the Hoyt Sherman Theater Nov. 11, has been canceled due to weak ticket sales, according to the venue.

Those who purchased tickets in advance can get a refund at the point of exchange.

Otherwise, already-purchased tickets can be considered a tax deductible donation to the Hoyt Sherman Place Performing Arts Fund.

Further questions can be answered at the venue’s box office at (515) 244-0507, Ext. 211.

The nonprofit organization strives to get live events out to the community, and although the Charlie Daniels band didn’t generate enough interest, the upcoming Medeski Martin & Wood show should do well.

DJ Logic joined the band two years ago to perform on stage and in the studio.

Its remixes can be heard on “Bubble-House Remixes” and “Combustication Remixes.” DJ Logic is also a guest on the full length, “Combustication,” according to a Ropeadope Records press release.

The independent label formed in conjunction with John Medeski and band manager Liz Penta and released DJ Logic’s latest disc on Oct. 12.

Check out “Project Logic” or see DJ Logic live with Medeski Martin & Wood Monday at 7 p.m. at the Hoyt Sherman Theater.

Welcome to the Jungle, fellas. Relive the good ol’ days of Guns N’ Roses with a new retrospective live compilation.

As the aging rock band has tried to collaborate on some new material, they plan to further milk the cash cow by releasing a live double disc later this month.

“Guns N’ Roses Live Era ’87-’93” will feature a slew of originals from “Appetite for Destruction,” “GNR Lies” and “Use Your Illusion I and II,” according to Geffen Records.

The album was recorded live at various concerts around the world and will feature one unreleased song, a cover of Black Sabbath’s “It’s Alright,” with Axl Rose at the piano.

The 1989 video for “It’s So Easy” was “found in the Geffen vaults” and will also be released to the masses.

The live album will be available Nov. 30.
