Mural madness

Matt Hubbsÿ

I used to reside in Larch. I paid my dues in dorm life, as I feel everyone should.

I still look for related articles.

I laughed while reading the dry-damp-wet situation, remembering the times I got drunk there underage.

I laughed at the security at Maple. But I laugh no more.

As a college student, I am insulted by what RCA is doing with the elevators in Larch and Willow.

Very good art students design and decorate those doors as a way to showcase their talents, and people like me who suck at art are happy to watch them do it.

If they wants to ban alcohol related designs, that’s fine.

But banning new designs in general? What in the hell is that about?

It is time for those folks at RCA to remember that dorm life is supposed to be FUN! Let students express themselves any damn way they please.

Don’t limit them to murals on the wall, and don’t set up a mural committee to see if the mural laws and mural sanctions of the mural code will permit the mural designs submitted.

Dorm rats pay enough money to live in a box and share a bathroom with 60 others, so give them some freedom. Elevator door designs have been the symbol of the floors in RCA for a long time. Ease up, already.
