Alpha Sigma Phi’s new house to open

Alpha Sigma Phi is extending an invitation to the university community to the grand opening of its new chapter house.

The house, located at 2132 Sunset Drive, was purchased in August of 1998 and has since been redesigned and reconstructed, including an addition on the northwest side.

The ceremony will include a ribbon-cutting and dedication at 10 a.m., with a pre-game tailgate party for the Iowa State-Colorado football game in the front yard of the property.

All are invited to join the celebration.

Gamma Phi Beta to hold annual pancake breakfast

Gamma Phi Beta will hold its fifth-annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday to benefit the Assault Care Center Extending Shelter and Support (ACCESS).

The breakfast is an all-you-can-eat event, offering pancakes, orange juice and sausage. It will be held at the Gamma Phi Beta house, 318 Pearson Ave.

Last year, the sorority raised more than $1,700 for the women’s shelter.
