In case you haven’t heard yet, The Sheila Divine will be dropping by the M-Shop Monday night with co-headliner Scarlet Runner.

The Sheila Divine were timely enough to sneak in a show at the M-Shop right before they head off on a regional tour, opening for the Manic Street Preachers and Superdrag, M-Shop coordinator Steve Winders said. Their stop in Ames is supporting the Boston natives’ recently released album, “New Parade.”

Each band will play about an hour, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for students.

A lovely local lineup is expected to fill Boheme to the brim on Oct. 5. Grubby Ernie, Mediocre Superheroes, P.E. All-Stars and Minus Zero will perform an all ages show beginning at 8:30 p.m.

If you are in need of a change of pace, head north for some house and techno tunes. “Big Daddy” Greg Comstock will spin an all ages dance party at First Ave. in Minneapolis Sunday night. And if you think that you might have some saucy spinnin’ up your sleeve, show up for a chance to guest DJ with the “Big Daddy.”

Sir Elton John will be “crocodile rockin'” near Ames this fall. He will perform solo at Vets Auditorium in Des Moines on Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets went on sale last Saturday, but are still available online at www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 233-1888.

Getting a nosebleed seat runs a whopping $49.50, and if you want to be able to see anything on the stage expect to pay about $10 more.

A soundtrack of R&B stars will hit stores next month, according to MTV News. “The Best Man — Music From the Motion Picture,” contains Lauryn Hill’s duet with her late father-in-law Bob Marley, “Turn Your Lights Down Low.” Maxwell’s “Let’s Not Play The Game” and The Roots featuring Jaguar’s “What You Want” will be released as the soundtrack’s singles.

The film, co-produced by Spike Lee, is the first feature from his cousin, Malcom D. Lee. The soundtrack is set to hit stores Oct. 12, followed by the movie’s release on Oct. 22.
