Slipknot fans might have noticed the band’s appearance on the cover of Cityview’s Aug. 4 issue. But they may not have realized the issue’s market value.

One fan allegedly made a tidy profit off of the issue, selling the free publication on eBay for $9.50 a copy, according to an August 25th Cityview article. The entrepreneurial leech reportedly loaded up at one of Cityview’s distribution sites and sold them on the online auction site.

No plans for the 3-day weekend? Road trip up to our northern neighbors for the 1999 Mill City Music Festival. Located in the Historic Warehouse District in downtown Minneapolis, the event will host over 130 Minnesota bands on six outdoor and four indoor stages.

The three day event will run nonstop Saturday through Monday, with gates opening at noon on Saturday and the music beginning at 1 p.m. Credit card orders are being taken through Thursday at 612-822-7802 or toll free at 888-301-8221. Tickets from a phone order can be retrieved at the 5th and Hennepin entrance when you arrive.

“Saturday Night Live” has yielded some memorable comedic acts in the last few decades, but the show has hosted some memorable musicians as well. Aiming to capture 25 years of live musical performances, “S.N.L.” is releasing a double disc compilation later this month.

“Saturday Night Live: The Musical Performances, Volumes 1 And 2” is due out Sept. 21, according to MTV News. The discs will contain such dismembered bands as the Grateful Dead and Nirvana. Rock veterans Paul Simon, Sting, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Tom Petty, David Bowie, Neil Young and R.E.M. will be intermixed among such “newer” musicians as Oasis, Green Day, Beck, Hole, Dr. Dre and TLC.

In addition to the commemorative CD release, “Saturday Night Live” will also air a 25th anniversary show on Sept. 26 from 8 to 10:30 p.m.
