Grandma MoJo’s holding auditions

Local sketch comedy troupe Grandma MoJo’s Moonshine Revival will be holding auditions Wednesday at the Maintenance Shop at 7 p.m.

The troupe, now entering its fourth season, is looking for comedy writers and actors to replace departing members from last year’s group.

No experience is necessary, but audition applicants are strongly encouraged to bring samples of writing. The audition process should last no longer than two hours.

Grandma MoJo’s performs every other Wednesday night in the M-Shop during the school year.

The first show of the season will be held Sept. 22 at 10 p.m.

WWF returning to Ames in October

The World Wrestling Federation will be returning to Hilton Coliseum in October, only two months after the WWF “Raw is War” event was held in Ames on Aug. 23.

The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22. The match-ups for the October visit by the WWF have not yet been disclosed, although fan-favorite “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who was out of action when “Raw is War” swung through Ames two weeks ago, is expected to be back by October.

Tickets will go on sale Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Iowa State Center box office in Stephens Auditorium at 10 a.m. Ticket prices will be $17.50, $25.50 and $30.50. Tickets also may be purchased by phone at 233-1888.

The ISU Entrepreneur Club Fall Kickoff will be held today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. Several Ames area businesses have donated door prizes to be given away at the event, which is free and open to the public.
