State student leaders present unified front

Student government representatives from Iowa State, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa are working collectively to see that tuition goes up as little as possible.

“We carry a stronger voice unified,” said Matt Craft, Government of the Student Body president. “If we have a number we agree on, our chances of getting it should increase.”

ISU government leaders met with the student government presidents and vice presidents from the U of I and UNI a few weeks ago to discuss tuition and other university issues.

Their meeting wasn’t all work and no play, though. The representatives placed a bet on this weekend’s ISU vs. Iowa football game.

“If we win, then U of I representatives have to treat us to dinner at The Airliner in Iowa City,” Craft said. “It took me a little while to think of something I wanted from Iowa City.”
