Dismayed by Godar’s piece
September 19, 1999
Once again, I compliment the Iowa State Daily for an excellent on-line version.
I read with interest the story about the horses roaming on Veenker. I guess the grass really is greener on the other side.
However, I was dismayed by Ben Godar’s piece on MTV.
When I started at Iowa State, MTV was just beginning.
The videos were incredibly lame by today’s standards, but it was still hypnotic.
The music video has become its own art form in the last 20 years. Sure, age changes things (don’t ask) like your perspective, and you can always throw stones.
But hell, I like Malibu (Hole) and Push It (Garbage). I want my MTV. Or at least MTV2.
