Missing Rusty

Adrian A. Devore

I am deeply saddened that Rusty Poehner was fired as the M-Shop program coordinator.

Rusty Poehner was a genuine person who passionately cared for her patrons in equal accordance to the various artists who appeared.

She provided a secure haven for serious music lovers to openly enjoy themselves without pressure.

What a grave loss.

After spending the past four years in Ames, the M-Shop was a personal sanctuary for me whenever I wanted to go out for a great performance at a low cost.

I was rarely disappointed when I saw acts like Las Tostalias, Saffire, Uppity Blues Women and T.S. Monk during my time at Iowa State University.

It was the only social bright light of my overall negative experiences at ISU.

I just want to say “thank you” to both Rusty and the M-Shop for giving out fantastic entertainment.

I am going to miss you, Rusty.
