Woodstock plans under way

Old-school rap group Digital Underground was unable to make it to the M-Shop Monday for its first night of a two-day stop, but the group will play a show Wednesday night instead.

Tickets for Monday night’s show can be used for Wednesday or refunded at all Ticketmaster outlets.

If you’re feeling a little anti-Ames, head on over to Iowa City and catch Liz Phair.

The Matador-maiden will perform at the University of Iowa’s Main Lounge at 8 p.m. in support of her recent release, “whitechocolatespaceegg,” according to a scope productions press release. Tickets cost a hefty $18 plus fees and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Let the bat biting begin! The infamous Ozzfest tour will start the summer off with a bang on May 27. Rob Zombie, Slayer, the Deftones and others will join the legendary band Black Sabbath, according to Rocktropolis.

Fans of the veteran rockers won’t want to miss this tour, as rumor has it this may be the last time Black Sabbath will be playing live together.

Midwestern dates include Minneapolis on July 1, Milwaukee on July 3, Chicago on July 5, St. Louis on July 7 and Kansas City, Mo., on July 9.

Colorado Springs, Colo., will get the first taste of a historical tour beginning June 6. Bob Dylan and Paul Simon will unite for the first time ever for a tour throughout the United States and Canada. Dates close to Ames include Minneapolis on July 2, Chicago on July 9 and St. Louis on July 10.

Holy big-name bands, Batman! Aerosmith, Bush, The Chemical Brothers, George Clinton, Collective Soul, Counting Crows, Creed, Sheryl Crow, DMX, Everlast, Fatboy Slim, Foo Fighters, Guster, Ice Cube, Jewel, Korn, Limp Bizkit, Live, Los Lobos, Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, Alanis Morissette, Willie Nelson, the Offspring, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rusted Root, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Sugar Ray and Tragically Hip are all confirmed for Woodstock ’99, according to Rocktropolis.

But that’s not all. Axl Rose may appear with the new Guns N’ Roses for the 30th anniversary event. Concert producer Michael Lang said the chances are “50/50.”

Hole and John Fogerty are among a few more bands that are currently in negotiations for the festival. And there’s even a chance that Marilyn Manson will make an appearance.

Lang expects a grand total of 45 acts performing on three stages for three days. The concert of the decade will be held July 23 through July 25 in Rome, N.Y.

“Individual tickets for the event cost $150, plus taxes and surcharges, and go on sale April 25 at Ticketmaster,” reported Rocktropolis.
