Specialty seats good for all of ISU
April 6, 1999
It is sad that, once more, a bill that predicts the elimination of specialty seats was brought up in front of GSB for the fifth time.
By eliminating specialty seats, GSB will eliminate the natural link between the minority, international and disabilities clubs and associations.
This link is vital not only for these clubs that depend on the support of GSB but also for all students communities.
GSB was traditionally in favor of supporting any kind of student activity that was undertaken from all the clubs and associations that operate under GSB’s umbrella.
Students that are represented through these specialty seats feel that GSB is close to them and understands their problems and concerns.
Eliminating their ability to communicate with the senate will be a great loss for everybody in this university.
This Wednesday, all the senators will show once again that GSB serves all the students in this university and deserves to be the ultimate administrative instrument of all student activities.
Please note that this is strictly my personal opinion.
