As Veishea General Co-Chairs for Veishea 2000, we would like to respond to the petition, signed by Robert Diesz, Brandon Riley and 720 other students, that was forwarded by the administration to the Veishea Advisory Council. This petition states that Veishea “needs to be brought back to the students of Iowa State University.” Students “control” Veishea by actively participating in its planning and implementation.

For this reason, we as newly selected Veishea general co-chairs for Veishea 2000 hope you will apply to serve on the Veishea executive committee and its subcommittees for Veishea 2000.

By having the chance to serve on these committees, we hope you will see that Veishea is in the control of the students.

Applications will be available in mid-October, 1999. Information regarding the application process will be posted on the Veishea Web page and in the Iowa State Daily next fall.

We encourage all students at Iowa State University to apply and be an active part of Veishea 2000.
