Dave Cmelik, editor of the Castro-supporting leftist newspaper The Drummer, wrote a letter in the Daily that tacitly endorsed Matt Craft by slamming the other executive candidates.

I want to publicly assure Matt Craft that I had nothing to do with Dave Cmelik’s support of him.

I have wanted this to be a clean race and did not want to have Mr. Craft’s reputation smeared in this way.

Being criticized by a political extremist like Dave Cmelik means you are doing something right, and while I don’t mind the good press, I do think all candidates should be treated fairly.

Matt Craft deserves better.
