Horrific rendition

Jason Mclaughlin

What I read in the opinion section of the Daily was a horrific rendition of President Burkhardt and Jamal White’s term in office.

The article gives a biased assessment of what has happened in the GSB this year.

Roepke wrote, “Burkhardt/ White promised to ‘help students deal with raising tuition’ too, but nobody went and blew their wads in Vegas because they were anticipating some help with their tuition did they?”

They did what they could to help deal with raising tuition.

If Roepke would have kept up with the Daily, he would have read about the times Burkhardt and White spent with the Regents addressing the tuition hike.

He would also know they got the Regents to lower the percentage as much as they could.

Roepke spoke about the George Washington Carver fund set up by Bryan and Jamal because their academics allowed them to receive scholarships for their tuition rather than the normal GSB payment of their tuition that comes from being elected.

So we are lucky enough to have two generous and bright students save their fellow students money and then set up a fund to help even more student groups receive financial backing when it otherwise wouldn’t even be there.

Sounds like a couple of guys that are doing what they pretty much can to help us students out.

I have met Bryan and Jamal and I see two executives that are caring and understanding.
