Athlete wants to run a complaint by you

Daniel J. Cooper

What’s wrong with the ISU Daily?

I am a student/athlete here at ISU, and I find it terribly hard to swallow that my school’s paper won’t go to athletic events here at ISU and print articles about them.

I run on the track team, and we had a meet here this past weekend at the Lied Recreation Facility.

It was one of the best meets of the indoor season this year; 50 of the top teams in the nation were here.

There was a possibility of a new world record in one of the races, which was set last year at this same meet.

I got to campus on Monday morning and headed right over to the Daily box to get my copy. I turned to the sports section, and I didn’t see any articles about the meet.

What I did see was an article about the freakin’ Iowa Hawkeye Basketball team.

What the hell is this?

I thought that at this university we had loyalty and that our fans were the greatest.

I must have been thinking of some other school.

The point that I am trying to get across is that people here would like to read about our sports teams and not the other universities.

If you like to support and write about other schools’ sports, I suggest that you transfer there.
