Box office could better inform buyers beforehand

Jeremy Ciesiel

I am writing to voice my dissatisfaction with the Iowa State box office.

On Jan. 29, I was prepared to camp out for Black Sabbath tickets.

I showed up at 1:00 a.m. ready to spend the next 11 hours in the cold for great seats.

When I arrived I was the only one there and was ecstatic.

When I approached the employees of the Iowa State Center they handed me a ticket stub and told me to go home.

Normally this would be appealing, but just three days earlier I visited the box office to inquire about the ticket sale procedure and verify that it was the same as before.

They agreed that people would be camping out just as they had the other times I’ve waited for tickets to an event held at Iowa State.

If I would have known before hand that they were going to change their procedure I would have been out there at six o’clock waiting to receive a ticket stub so I could go home.

Due to the cold weather I can see that they were trying to do people a favor, but they should inform people beforehand.

Maybe they will be more considerate next time when it comes to changing policy or misinforming customers.
