Yet another demand for an apology

As a Kansas fan, I was surprised to read your comments regarding Lynn Pride. I’ve known Lynn Pride for three years, and she is neither cocky nor does she have a poor attitude.

She gets as frustrated as any good player when she has to contend with three defenders at a time, especially when the defenses are rough, and oftentimes, illegal.

She is as excited during games as she is exciting to watch. During Saturday’s game, I sat in row two, across from where Lynn Pride was given the technical. It came because of her excitement about having made a good play.

Similarly, Nakia Sanford is an emotional player, not unlike several players at ISU. Would you want it otherwise?

With respect to your comments about trash-talking, let me assure you that the Kansas players are regularly treated to such conduct from opposing players.

They are also strongly discouraged from doing the same by their coaching staff. Unless you can cite specific examples of “trash-talking” last Saturday, you owe our players an apology because you have engaged in it yourself.

I have been a follower of the women’s game for 20 years.

So far, it has not taken on the embarrassing antics of so many players and their fans of the men’s game — at least not in the arenas that I frequent. I would hope that we could keep it that way.

Your reporting was biased and unprofessional.
