Boys and Girls Club, tennis team sponsor ‘fun day’

The Boys and Girls Club of Ames and the Iowa State women’s tennis team are going to have a “fun day” Saturday at the Ames Racquet and Fitness Center, 320 S. 17th St.

About 20 Boys and Girls Club members are going to learn basic tennis skills from the Cyclone women’s tennis team from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Ethnic diversity panel to be held

“Ethnic Diversity in Higher Education,” a panel discussion held by Iowa State faculty, staff and students, will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Gold Room of the Memorial Union.

It is free and open to the public.

The discussion is being sponsored by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and will be moderated by Vice President of Student Affairs Thomas Hill.

The College of Education also contributed to the organization of the discussion.


Applications out for scholarships

Scholarship applications for the 1999-2000 school year are now available for students in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. Applications are available in Room 128 of Hamilton Hall and are due Feb. 1.
