Editor’s Note: SoapBoxing is a weekly feature by Daily reporter Ben Godar. He will be interviewing ISU faculty and staff, students and Ames community members, soliciting their opinions on widely-ranging topics such as current political issues and new movies. For this week’s article, Godar interviewed Government of the Student Body President Brian Burkhardt.

“A Bug’s Life” – “You’re going to think I’m a nerd, but I thought the computer animation was great. It was funny, I really thought it was pretty entertaining.”

Pizza Kitchens – “They have a really good pineapple pizza. My roommates are really frustrated with the fact that I like pineapple pizza, but go figure. Canadian bacon and pineapple for me is like a treat, but I never get it. We just get pepperoni or something.”

Food in Parks Library – “I don’t know if you can make student arrests or whatever, but I was really tempted to the other day. I saw a guy, he had a Fruit Roll-Up or something. And all I could remember was the bugs coming to eat the food and getting the books [in the Library 160 tutorials]. I wanted to take him and play that for him.”

Impeachment – “First thing, it’s time to move on. I’ll say that much. I do want to say I think if the roles were reversed partisan-wise and party-wise, crookedness would still take place, so I can’t point any fingers in that regard. However, I would say the people have spoken, and it’s time for the lawmakers to listen.”

New Year’s Resolutions – “I have more than one. One of them is to be a better listener. One is to do a little better academically, and [third] is to make sure I’m doing the best I can for students for GSB.”

Peanut Butter: Chunky vs. Creamy – “I’d have to say chunky. I like the challenge of chewing the nuts. Quite honestly, peanut butter is not a favorite of mine at all. One of my roommates I lived with in the spring, I swear she ate a jar of peanut butter every week at least. My jar took me closer to eight weeks; but chunky all the way.”

Scary Restrooms – “There is a restroom on either second or third floor of Parks Library that really scares me. It was filthy. If you got to go, go. But at the same time, be careful. I think it was the fact that there was a lot of vandalism and writing on the walls, and to me that is detracting from an otherwise gorgeous library. The other thing is that one of the toilets, I believe, was clogged up. That’s just scary.”

Pretty Boy Bands – “Any Backstreet Boys song really annoys me.”

Fight: Henry Rollins vs. Glen Danzig – “I believe Rollins [would win]. Although I don’t know Danzig’s physique, Rollins is a brute. I’m going to put my money on Rollins.”
