Football player arrested on domestic abuse charges

Jason Parrott, sophomore in sociology and defensive back for the Iowa State football team, may be charged with a count of domestic abuse.
Parrott is accused of dragging his girlfriend by the hair through their apartment at 205 South Fifth St. #712, according to the KCCI Web site.
Athletics Director Gene Smith said Parrott will be suspended from the team until the matter is resolved.
The domestic abuse charge is a simple misdemeanor, which carries a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail or a $100 fine.
