Generalizations based on individual behavior

As I read the “Head Games” article by Luke Haner, I chuckled to myself.

Once again has a nasty generalization of a group of people been made based on the actions and wrong-doings of one individual.

Not all Christians picket at funerals and preach in front of the Hub. Not all vegetarians splatter blood on people’s leather coats.

And not all Democrats sleep with their interns and lie about it.

These stereotypes are what is causing this country to fall apart.

Besides, I hardly think that what President Clinton did was even worth talking about. It didn’t affect you.

Nor did it really matter in the lives of most Americans.

Sure, he lied. He’s a schmuck.

But all that pales in comparison to the actions of a former Republican President named Richard M. Nixon.

So don’t you [Clinton detractors] talk about bad presidents.

Besides, good presidents and bad presidents … it’s all relative. And who really cares anyway?

So Mr. Haner, I hope people used their heads, too. To think for themselves and not to vote the way I, you or anyone else wished them to.
