The time has come to enter the Catt Hall resolution phase
November 18, 1998
For far too long, a battle has been fought on the Iowa State campus about the name of a building: Carrie Chapman Catt Hall.ÿ
In recent years, many have been hurt by the conflict and very little progress has ever been made.ÿ
In the spring of 1998, the Government of the Student Body for Iowa State University formed the Catt Hall Review Committee.ÿ
In short, the committee was formed to review the name of Catt Hall and to propose suggestions about resolving the conflict.ÿ
The committee has worked over the summer and fall semesters to prepare its findings on the chronology of Carrie Chapman Catt, the naming conflict and the feelings of the Iowa State community.ÿ
The final report of the Catt Hall Committee will be presented to the Government of the Student Body Senate on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998 at 7 p.m.ÿ
The meeting will be held in the Gallery of the Memorial Union and everybody is encouraged to attend.ÿ
Whether or not you agree with the name on Catt Hall, the time has come for the resolution of this conflict.ÿÿ
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and listen to a variety of new ideas about Catt Hall.ÿÿÿ
