Lightfoot is not a liar

David A Francis

Several days ago, an ISU professor wrote in and called gubernatorial candidate Mr. Jim Lightfoot a liar for his voting record.

A little research into the matter however shows that Mr. lightfoot did not lie, and that the accusation against him is untrue. Tom Vilsack has ADMITTED that Mr. Lightfoot’s vote was not fully described in the ad, but yet continued to run the ad.

The resolution that Mr. Lightfoot voted for persevered the effort to balance the Federal budget while maintaining high-priority national programs such as biomedical research, Headstart, Ryan White Aids funding, special education and higher education (Pell Grants/Perkins Loans).

Tom Vilsack was deliberately misleading the public in this ad. It seems that democrats cannot run a campaign based on the truth. An apology from the professor would be appropriate.
