35″ Mudder to open for Motley Crue

Motley Crue is live and kicking once again.

The band kicks off its “Greatest Hits” tour tonight in support of the Crue’s forthcoming album of the same name. The album will be the third release on the band’s own label, Motley Crue Records, and will feature 15 hits from the past, such as “Home Sweet Home,” “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and “Kickstart My Heart.”

Special to the album are the two new songs, “Bitter Pill” and “Enslaved.” The band recruited the legendary producer Bob Rock who last worked with the Crue on the multi-platinum “Dr. Feelgood.”

Look for “Greatest Hits” to hit shelves on Oct. 27, and look for bodies to hit the floor in what may be the largest mosh pit Stephens Auditorium has ever seen.

Opening the show will be Ames’ own 35″ Mudder. The men of Mudder have seen a lot of action lately, having warmed up the crowd at Rock Veishea last year and headlining the local stage at Mancow’s Lazer Luau. 35″ Mudder also has a sophomore album, titled “Stained,” to be released Oct. 30.

The metal will hit the fan tonight at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can still be purchased through Ticketmaster for $34.50.
