Choirs team-up for special production

Lilting madrigals, haunting melodies and upbeat jazz will fill the Great Hall of the Memorial Union Sunday as the music department puts on its annual Collage of Choirs.

Over 300 students in six choirs will sing 17 songs, including “Bells of Iowa State” as a finale.

“The idea of Collage of Choirs is that it’s informal,” said Robert Molison, professor of music and director of the Iowa State Singers, Oratorio Choir and the Men’s Glee Club. “We sing in a circle; the audience is incidental.”

The performances of the Collage of Choirs will be at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The concert is free to the public.

“We hope a lot of students will come,” Molison said.
