The Iowa State Alumni Association will be tailgating before the Homecoming game Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the southwest corner of the Iowa State Center parking lot, section A4.

“[We will have] free food for all Alumni Association members … students and alumni alike,” said Julie Larson, director of student and career programs for the ISU Alumni Association.

“We have an alumni tailgate every year, but this is the first year it is free for members, so we are calling it member appreciation day,” Larson said.

Even if students or alumni are not members of the Alumni Association, they can still attend, Larson said. The cost will be $6 for students and $8 for alumni.

Yet another attraction available at the alumni tailgate will be the final round of judging for the 1998 Yell Like Hell competition.

“It is a nice event because it is amazing who the alumni can see there,” said Chad Harris, sophomore in history and the coordinator of Yell Like Hell. “They see people they went to college with, and sometimes the sons and daughters of those they went to college with.”

Harris said those who attend can expect to find plenty of door prizes, plenty of music and some mean barbecue.
