The right hand of darkness
October 18, 1998
Sure, it’s a right-hander’s world, but why would the Daily ask the “coordinator of disability resources” how many southpaw students ISU has? This qualifies as a handicap?
Personally, I’ve come to terms with my disability in an academic setting: I flip “righty” notebooks over and write on the backs of the pages.
That frees up my time to grouse about why you can’t find a rifle with a bolt on the left side. Or a bike with a kickstand on the right. Hey, wait. I’m a victim!
