Your blood is driving me crazy

Jessica Schild

During the week of Nov. 2 through Nov. 6, every person at Iowa State will have the chance to be a hero.

The Fall Blood Drive is during this week, and we need all of your help donating and volunteering!

This is your opportunity to help the children who have cancer or the grandmother who is having a liver transplant.

Donate for the family who lost their house and nearly their lives due to a fire.

Every three seconds, someone needs blood!

Someday YOUR life may depend on blood donated by people in your community.

The Ames community depends on a steady, adequate blood supply for all patients in central Iowa along with the other blood centers that are coming to help out with the Fall Blood Drive.

We all know someone who has needed blood at least once in their life.

My sister was diagnosed with cancer when she was 11 years old. When she received new blood, her energy came back and she had color in her cheeks again!

It was amazing to see what a bag of blood that someone donated could do for a little girl who couldn’t make “good” blood herself.

Please stop by the Great Hall at the Memorial Union during the Fall Blood Drive. The hours are Monday- Thursday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

There is a hero in all of us.
