Soccer: Cyclones announce recruiting class of 2019

On Friday, the Iowa State soccer team announced its recruiting class of 2019 which consists of 10 student-athletes.
Out of the 10 signees, four of them — Rachel Vander Hart, Abbey Van Wyngarden, Olivia Wee and Allie Wycoff — played high school soccer in central Iowa.
Wee and Wycoff were teammates at Ankeny Centennial High School, while Vander Hart played at Urbandale and Van Wyngarden played at Valley in West Des Moines.
Wee and Wycoff won a state title for the Jaguars in 2018 while Van Wyngarden and Vander Hart won three club championships with Sporting Iowa.
The Cyclones also signed another recruit who was born in Iowa. Delaney Goodell grew up in Boone, Iowa, but moved to Milton, Georgia.
Goodell was a Regional All-Star in 2017 and was named to the all-conference team twice.
A pair of recruits from Illinois signed with the Cyclones on Friday — Mira Emma and Claudia Najera.
Emma is from Wheaton, Illinois, and had a solid club career as a part of the Chicago Shockers FC soccer club. Emma is a versatile athlete not only on the soccer field but on the basketball court as well as she has earned all-conference honors at Wheaton Warrenville South high school.
Najera is from St.Charles, Illinois and has had an eventful club career as she has won four Illinois State Cup’s with the Campton United Soccer Club and was named to the USYS National Championship finalist.
Rounding out the class of 2019 is Kennidy Belle, Lauren Holleran and Georgia Wimmer.
Belle comes from Cincinnati, Ohio, and is a three-star according to Top Drawer Soccer. In her school career, Belle won two state championships while playing soccer at The Summit Country Day School and earned a spot on the all-league team and the All-Southwest Ohio team.
Holleran is yet another recruit from Colorado the Cyclones have signed in recent years. While in high school, Holleran won a state championship played for the top-ranked team in the country at Grandview high school in Centennial, Colorado.
Wimmer is from Omaha, Nebraska and went to Westside high school. While playing for the Elite Girls Academy soccer club, Wimmer won a State Cup.
