Island Record’s power duo Local H will play an all-ages show at People’s Bar and Grill Oct. 15.

The Zion, Ill., group is touring in support of its third record, “Pack Up the Cats,” released Sept. 1.

Local H will be performing its current single “All the Kids Are Right,” about a gig gone bad, on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” on Sept. 23.

Local H returns to Ames after a Veishea ’96 show at The M-Shop and a ’95 gig with Tripping Daisy at the same venue.

The group also played at this summer’s Mancow’s “Lazer Luau” at the Ankeny Airfield.

People’s Bar and Grill will also host industrial diva Sister Soleil on Oct. 24 and 25.

The Saturday show will be 21 and over, and the Sunday performance will be all-ages.

Sister Soleil is currently touring in support of its Universal Records debut “Soularium,” which was produced at Peter Gabriel’s studio in England.

The Chicago-based group returns to People’s for the first time since fall of ’96.

Sister Soleil also performed at this summer’s Dotfest 2 at the Ankeny Airfield.

MCA recording artists The Murmurs has also been added to People’s schedule for Sept. 20. It will be all-ages and $5 at the door.

Tickets for those shows and October performances by Martin Zellar and Dread Zeppelin go on sale Friday at People’s and all TicketMaster outlets.

Tickets for each of the shows, except The Murmurs, are $10.
